Youth Programme for Spring 2012

Included on this page is everything that’s happening this Spring for the Youth of St. Mark’s. Youth Alpha starts this Sunday at the Church. It’s 7-9pm in the church hall. It’s a great opportunity to find out more about what the Christian faith is all about. It’s a mixture of media clips, short talks, space to ask any questions you have all set in a cringe free environment! You don’t have to commit to the whole thing. Just come along this Sunday or the next one, try it out and see what you think.

An explanation of each event

Youth Alpha is an internationally renowned course that looks at the basics of the Christian faith. It’s a great opportunity for young people and their friends to discover who Jesus is in a cringe free environment. This is all mixed up with fun games, short media based talks and lively discussion. 7-9pm in the Church hall and is open to 11 – 18 year olds.

Epic is our monthly youth event for 11 – 18 year olds. It contains a mixture of lively games, food and faith. We try to use different learning styles and techniques to look at the Christian faith. Epic is 7-9pm in the Church hall.

Pathfinders is ‘Sunday School’ for teenagers. School years 7-9 meet in the rainbow room and 10-13 meet in the lounge. Pathfinders is on the 2nd/4th & 5th Sunday of the month during the 10.45am service.

Xtreme is on the first Sunday of every month during the 10.45am service. Children and teenagers come together to learn about Jesus using a variety of different learning styles.

The weekend away is one of the highlights of the St. Mark’s youth calendar. If you are in year 7 or just joined the church it’s a great way of getting to know other young people in the church. For regulars it’s a brilliant time of hanging out with mates, learning more about the Christian faith and having a lot of fun.

TAG  is the weekly youth club for school years 7-10. Every Wednesday during term time at St. Mark’s from 7.30-9.30pm.

Café 242 & Girls Café are monthly discipleship groups for years 10 and above. They will be moved to a mid-week slot this term to allow space for Youth Alpha. Del is in the process of finding a day and time that is best for all the young people who come.

Ignite Hope is a weekend of caring for our community through social action. This year will have a sporty theme. Details to follow. Friday 4th – Sunday 7th May.
