A few days earlier a terrorist drove a lorry into a crowded Christmas market in Berlin, killing a number of people.
We have a real hope because Jesus' coming in the darkness. We rejoice that there is an answer to human suffering in Jesus.
1. We live in a world of darkness. The Bible is realistic about the human condition.
2. The darkness is in our human heart - all people love darkness instead of light. How can we step out of darkness and into the light? We need to believe in him and follow him.
3. The darkness has not overcome the light. At the Cross all the forces of Hell were poured out on him, but became Jesus' ultimate victory over darkness.
