Jesus finds a quiet place. A woman, possibly Mary, anoints Jesus. The story is Sandwiched between acts of plotting and betrayal. The contrast could not be greater. The act will never be forgotten. The disciples had forgotten that Jesus had warned them of his death and grumbled at the waste. Jesus defended her. Are we ever moved to do something, but don't do it? Mary's act was really a gift to the poor . Does our devotion to Christ cost us anything?
