Don’t Forget God’s Grace

Passage: Deuteronomy 8:1-9:6
Service Type:

Israel is at the borders of the promised land and are about cross. From life in the desert where God provide manna to live on, they are to go into the land of Canaan and grow their own food. The danger of the easy life there was greater than that of war; it would be too easy to forget God when life was easy. God was letting them conquer Canaan in:
a. Fulfilment of his promise to Abraham.
b. Judgement on the existing inhabitants.

It was not because of merits of the Israelites - they did not deserve it.
Today, we have to watch that we aren't more concerned about being happy than obeying God.
