The Laodicean church just did not recognise how out of touch with God they were and how offensive to Jesus this was. They thought they were doing well but they were deluded. We must be on our guard against lukewarmness and, if we notice it, turn to God in repentance and receive his restoration. Our reward will be to sit with him.
