Jesus knew what was going on from God's point of view.
Israel's leaders had turned their backs on God.
He knew the world people were living in.
A battle for Dad with his sons.
Jesus' hearers would have known people who had given up on God.
Sometimes we say 'Yes, Lord, I'll go', but don't.
One son did the work, but the other did not. We need to acknowledge our weakness. Some who seemed to be doing well had turned aside. You said you wanted in, but wandered out. Don't let this be your story.
