We should not be surprised if we meet opposition. It is as nothing compared to what some face.
Nehemiah may be God's last word in the Old Testament.
1. Expect opposition.
2. The nature of the opposition - begins with the ridicule of God's people and his work. It moves on to a threat of violence.
3. Opposition is effective - it takes its toll.
Nehemiah shows us how to respond.
1. He remembers who God is.
2. He prays.
3. He acts. He does everything in his power to further God's work.
